Statistics for Policy Makers
Overview
The course covers key statistical concepts crucial to the effective statistical results constantly used to make decisions in business and government. It is designed to last half a day because we understand that the targeted audience is time constrained. To cover a substantial amount of statistical material in this short time, without the use of mathematical formulae and with minimum of jargon, we make use of graphical displays that convey the concepts and their use. During the session fair amount of time is allocated to questions and answers about the practical use of statistical results as sources of information. This course is not intended to teach how to produce statistics or process data but how to interpret statistical information. Who Should Attend? The course is aimed at people who are interested in using statistical results for decision making, who need to get the best of the statistical information available and would like to make sure that the they can interpret statistics and statistical results effectively.
